Hãy đến Tân Phú (huyện Châu Thành) để khám phá nét độc đáo của cây trái miệt vườn”. Đó là lời giới thiệu của một đồng nghiệp và đã khơi dậy tính tò mò ở tôi. Rời thị xã Bến Tre sầm uất, tôi men theo tỉnh lộ 884 được trải nhựa phẳng lì. Cứ thế mà tiến về Tân Phú.
Đến ngã ba Tân Phú - Quới Thành, đường tỉnh 884 không còn tươm tất mà thay vào đó là đá đỏ, thỉnh thoảng lại bắt gặp ổ gà khá to và bụi. Nhưng điều thú vị là cứ rẽ vào những con đường liên xóm, liên ấp của Tân Phú đâu đâu cũng được bê-tông hóa. Một bức tranh thơ mộng đã được phác hoạ càng rõ nét. Những con đường bê-tông chạy luồn lách trong các vườn chôm chôm, trái chính đỏ trĩu cành. Nhà vườn Tân Phú trưng bảng hiệu mời gọi du khách dừng chân. Nhà vườn Nguyễn Văn Hoá tâm sự: “Cách đây 4 năm, một số du khách từ tỉnh khác đến, thấy vườn cây trái trông thích thú, rồi ghé vào xin được hái trái từ trên cây xuống và mua. Có du khách mải mê thú vui bên vườn cây trái đến lúc chuẩn bị rời vườn mới cảm thấy đói cào nên đề nghị chủ nhà bán và làm thịt gà thả vườn nấu cháo. Và ý tưởng biến vườn cây ăn trái thành điểm du lịch sinh thái được hình thành.”
Đến mùa thu hoạch trái cây là khách thập phương xuôi về Tân Phú. Đặc biệt là ngay dịp Tết Đoan ngọ, nhiều con đường ở Tân Phú đã trở nên quá tải bởi lưu lượng khách tham quan hội tụ về đây. Khách đến đông đúc, và không để cho du khách thất vọng, nhà vườn Tân Phú khẩn trương bắt tay vào việc dọn dẹp các bờ vườn thông thoáng, đầu tư bê-tông đường dẫn thẳng vào vườn để trời mưa du khách không bị đất lấm bẩn chân tay.
Nhà vườn Tân Phú đã biết khai thác thú vui của khách đô thành. Khách dừng chân tha hồ dạo quanh vườn để ngắm nhìn chôm chôm, sầu riêng. Ông Võ Hoàng Bá, Phó Chủ tịch UBND xã Tân Phú cho biết, năm nay là lần thứ 2 huyện Châu Thành chọn Tân Phú làm điểm tổ chức ngày hội cây trái ngon vào dịp Tết Đoan ngọ (mùng 5 tháng 5 âm lịch). Rút kinh nghiệm lần tổ chức trước, lần này địa điểm tổ chức là ngã 4 Tân Bắc nằm ngay trung tâm của xã. Khách đến đây rồi rẽ vào vườn cây trái rất dễ dàng. Xã Tân Phú có 1.500 ha đất trồng cây ăn trái, hiện có 50% diện tích đang bước vào vụ thu hoạch, đảm bảo đáp ứng nhu cầu khách tham quan. Xã đã hình thành 8 điểm du lịch sinh thái để phục vụ khách tham quan.
Cũng theo ông Bá, nhân dân Tân Phú vốn hiếu khách nên rất vui khi có khách ghé vào tham quan vườn cây trái. Mùng 5 tháng 5 âm lịch năm nay, khu vực Cồn Tiên, thuộc xã Tiên Long đã cho thuê mặt nước nuôi cá da trơn nên không còn là nơi tắm bùn nữa. Vì thế, Tân Phú sẽ là nơi khách tham quan dừng chân. Xã đã phân công lực lượng tham gia đảm bảo an ninh trật tự. Các điểm du lịch cũng đã cam kết bán trái cây đúng giá và phục vụ chu đáo. Để khi khách tham quan rời điểm du lịch sẽ mang về ấn tượng hiền hoà, mến khách của miệt vườn Tân Phú.
